Music and Lyrics
by Charlie Smalls Book by Based on the story "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum |
Our 11th Season opens with a fantastic stop in the land of Oz.
However, our presentation Oz will not be quite the one you remember from your childhood. In this contemporary version of L. Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz, Kansas is replaced by the slums of a fast-paced city in the midst of change. Oz remains Oz, but with new twists
and soulful songs.
We are excited to present this energetic redux on what is arguably the greatest American musical ever written, if not the most celebrated. Join us as we continue to explore our new home in downtown New Brunswick at the Tony Award Winning Crossroads Theater.

We are so proud to be able to present Parade to the members of our company and our community. The true story of Leo Frank, a Jewish man wrongly accused of murder in 1913 Atlanta, is put to music by the celebrated Jason Robert Brown in one of the most ambitious and controversial musicals of contemporary theatre. The original 1999 production garnered 9 Tony nominations, including two wins for best book and best original score. Join us as we revisit an earlier era in America’s history whose issues continue to resonate today.

The finale to our season is a show that we’ve been vying for since we first saw it on Broadway. And we are thrilled that we will be one of the FIRST non-professional companies in New Jersey to perform The Wedding Singer! It’s 1985 and Ridgefield, NJ is ablaze with rad haircuts, new wave duds, and awesome music! Based on the Adam Sandler film of the same name, The Wedding Singer adds infectious music to an already hilarious script. We can’t wait to totally rock out with you!
