Spring Awakening is the story of German youths in 1891 facing the realities of adulthood, as told through a rock musical score. Exploring themes of sexuality, depression, and coming of age, Spring Awakening is a truly groundbreaking musical.
The score is orchestrated for the following instruments:
- Violin (Doubling on acoustic and electric guitar)*
- Bass (acoustic and electric)
- Guitar (acoustic, electric nylon acoustic, steel string acoustic, and 12 string acoustic)
- Drums (drum set, glockenspiel, other accessories)
*This book can be split between violin and electric guitar
Due to the difficulty of the music, you will be asked to prepare preselected sections of the music for your audition. Please click the link https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6kx0HPcIPksN0c2aHZLR0k0eFk for your instrument’s respective musical excerpts. You may contact the music directors Kyle Buchanan (firstname.lastname@example.org), or Thomas Silkowski (email@example.com) if you have any specific questions regarding the musical excerpts. There will also be a sight-reading portion at the audition.
